Experience and Training

For thirty years I have worked with individuals and families in multiple mental health settings, including seventeen years as a family therapist at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School, the preeminent psychiatric hospital in the country.

I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology at Stony Brook University, with Honors in Psychology and a minor in Women’s Studies. I received my master’s degree in Social Work from Boston University with a major in clinical practice.

Working as a sole practitioner in several outpatient services I have treated children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Presenting problems included anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, adjustment disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, attention deficit disorder, stress associated with divorce, parent guidance, marital conflict, and family discord.

For the past seventeen years I have worked as a family therapist at McLean Hospital, The OCD Institute, in a residential treatment program for adults with refractory OCD. In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I led psychotherapy groups and provided clinical supervision for master’s level candidates from schools of social work in the Boston area.
